It’s been a quiet week, but I head to Haydock on Saturday for two rides, including one for Charlie Longsdon in the Swinton.

Read on to see my thoughts on both of my rides.

Wa Wa – 1.35pm Haydock

I partner Wa Wa for Irish trainer Dermot McLoughlin, and he’s a horse who’s won his last two starts over hurdles. He was slightly disappointing back over fences last time out, but he looks to be a decent mark for this race, and he’s sure to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a big competitive field. So I’m hoping they’re not coming over to make up the numbers, and I’m excited to see how we get on.

Parramount – 3.15pm Haydock

Paramount is a horse I’ve enjoyed plenty of success with, riding him four times and picking up two wins, a 2nd place, and a 3rd. He was disappointing at Aintree last time out, but they went plenty fast that day, and I’m hoping he didn’t have too hard a race. A race like the Swinton looks ideal for him as long as Aintree hasn’t taken too much out of him.
